I'll stamp all over 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" the American as the pair met personally to promote next month's heavyweight fight.
Former twice unified title holder Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive mismatch - at Miami's venue on December 19th.
Fighter's Mindset
"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, stated.
"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.
"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's my goal."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of such comments, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British opponent Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Fighter
In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's largest money-making draws, consistently making substantial paydays.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.
"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.
Physical Disparity
As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the match is truly going ahead.
